Commercial Financial Controller
Fully Remote, UK
£65,000 - £75,000 + Bonus + Career progression
This is an exceptional opportunity to join a fast-growing, innovative group as a hands-on Financial Controller. Created to add commercial firepower and robust financial control to a values-led business, this role is ideally suited to an ambitious Finance Manager or Financial Controller looking to take their next step into an FC role with genuine group progression.
Reporting into the Group Finance Lead, you will take full ownership of the finance function across a core business stream while acting as a proactive catalyst for continuous improvement. This is not a role for someone who wants to sit on the sidelines producing backward looking monthly packs. It is designed for a driven, sleeves-rolled-up finance professional who wants to be in the detail, influence commercial strategy, and shape what happens next.
Key Responsibilities
- Core Financial Control & Reporting: Own the day-to-day finance operations, management accounts, cash flow, working capital management, budgeting, and rolling forecasts.
- Commercial & Margin Optimisation: Partner with operations to analyse manufacturing cost control, product and customer profitability, overspend/underspend trends, and capex investments.
- International & Supply Chain Finance: Support transfer pricing, intercompany transactions, tax efficiencies, and international finance across UK, European, and US export markets.
- Systems & Change Management: Play a central role in finance systems continuous improvement, process automation, and the upcoming migration to Microsoft Dynamics.
- Strategic Group Exposure: Support broader group initiatives, business case evaluations, operational efficiencies, and potential acquisition integration activities as the business scales.
- Continuous Improvement: Establish "what good looks like" across reporting frameworks, internal controls, and data integrity to drive informed business decisions.
About You
We are looking for a hungry, commercially minded, and detail-oriented finance professional who thrives in a fast-paced, high-energy, and non-corporate environment.
Experience & Attributes Needed:
- Strong foundation in financial control, budgeting, forecasting, and commercial analysis (Qualified ACA/ACCA/CIMA or Qualified by Experience).
- Proven track record operating as a Finance Manager ready to step up, or a hands-on FC who enjoys operational detail.
- Experience within manufacturing, or supply-chain/inventory-heavy environments is highly advantageous.
- Exposure to international trade, export finance, transfer pricing, or group structures is a distinct advantage.
- Familiarity with ERP change projects or systems implementations (experience with Microsoft Dynamics is a plus).
- A self-motivated, proactive mindset with a genuine desire to take ownership and solve operational problems.
- Collaborative, ego-free communication style that thrives in a flat, autonomous, and no-blame culture.
What’s on Offer
- Flexibility: Remote-first working model with flexible daily hours.
- Generous Leave: 25 days annual leave plus statutory bank holidays, alongside 3 fully paid charity days.
- Professional Development: Direct mentorship, exposure to visionary senior leadership, and clear pathways to grow into broader group-level responsibilities.
- Culture: High autonomy, rapid decision-making, and an environment that genuinely puts company values first.
