Senior Accountant – Altrincham

We’re working with an established, independent accountancy practice in Altrincham that’s looking to add an experienced Senior Accountant to its growing team.
This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys the variety that comes with working in practice — managing a portfolio of clients, getting involved in more complex work and building strong relationships along the way.
You’ll be joining a professional but personable team, working with a varied client base and having the opportunity to develop your career within a well-established practice.
What will you be doing?
Your role will be varied, with responsibility across a portfolio of clients.
You’ll be involved in:

Preparing year-end accounts and financial statements

Managing your own portfolio of clients

Supporting clients with accounting, tax and compliance queries

Preparing work for a range of businesses and industries
-
Reviewing accounts and supporting junior members of the team

Assisting with audit work where required
-
Building and maintaining strong client relationships
-
Working closely with managers and partners on client work
It’s a role where you’ll have real client contact and ownership, rather than simply being another pair of hands within the practice.
What are they looking for?
You’ll ideally already be working within an accountancy practice and have solid experience managing accounts for a range of clients.
You’ll also bring:

Strong accounts preparation experience

Good knowledge of UK accounting standards and tax

Experience working with a varied client portfolio

The confidence to deal directly with clients
-
Experience reviewing work or supporting more junior team members
-
Strong attention to detail and organisation
-
ACA, ACCA or equivalent qualification preferred, although relevant experience will also be considered
Most importantly, you’ll be someone who enjoys working with clients, taking responsibility and being part of a team.
